My Opinion About Celebs13:
It's hard not to be curious about celebrities. After all, they're portrayed to lead glamorous and exciting lives and if you consider how frequently we all see television shows and movies, it's like half of the celebs are a large part of our own lives, even if we don't really know them. If you've ever wondered how many times they've appeared nude in movies or even what they look like without their make-up artists powder puffing their foreheads every two-seconds or whether or not they've been caught in some sort of sex or nude scandal, Celebs 13 promises all of this and they even claim to have rare content.
Once you log in, you get a choice between a huge main database and a "secret" secondary archive. I had a huge amount of difficulty accessing the main DB. No matter which browser I used I kept getting a message saying that "I don't have permission to access the site on my server" whatever the hell that means. I decided I'd better check customer service.
The so called secret archive, which is where the kinkier content is located, was very easy to access. Here you will find four main categories: movies, pictures, bonus pictures and scandal tapes. There is an average of 25 sub-categories for each. Basically, the categories are the letters A to Z. The celebrity movies are the typical fare, consisting of films where the celebs are featured nude or in love scenes with other actors.
For some odd reason there were porn celebrities like Aria Giovanni and Jenna Jameson in the archives. I am not exactly sure why, since both have made a living out of their nudity, so seeing them in the buff or in a sex scene doesn't really strike me as shocking or particularly kinky and taboo. Anyhow, the site doesn't make the promised 'rare' content very explicit and frankly I recognized much content as the typical fare that I find on sites like these, and Angelina Jolie in 'Gia' and Sharon Stone in 'Basic Instinct' are the typical content I often come across. However, I did find biography content on Nathalie Portman, for example, which I would consider more unique than some celebrity sites offer.
When it comes to scandals expect the ever popular and overly exposed Pamela Anderson and Paris Hilton tapes. There's a selection of 28 scandal tapes, the majority of which I'd seen before. However, there was a flick with Barbara Streisand, which was unique and another with supermodel Claudia Schiffer, which was new to me.
MPEG is the format I came across and the quality varies widely. Bitrate averages at around 535kbps and screensize can be really small to a larger 320x240. There are also some WMV and AVI clips, but only one format is offered per movie. Pictures can be a terrific 3000x1960, which was better than I could have hoped. These are super crisp and there are plenty of nudes, but a hell of a lot more non-nudes of celebs on the red carpet, at premiers, out and about on the town or attending special events. There aren't slides, nor .zip downloads. Not all photos are great and the one thing that irritated me was that sometimes you'll come across a series of photos that look like the same photo.
Final Verdict:
The site is really a pain in the ass to navigate and could stand to be organized and laid out in a much more convenient and user-friendly manner. All in all, I can't say that I was overly impressed. There is some content here that I haven't seen before, but the majority of it can be found on just about any similar site and similar sites have a tendency to be much easier to navigate than Celebs 13. Aside from some excellent quality and a massive amount of content, the site doesn't stand out like other celebrity sites I've seen.
